The Performing Mind Programme

Performing Mind is.....

An e-mail based educational tool, that teaches mental preparation and self management skills, to those serious about their sport, in order to help them make the most of their talent and resources, and perform as well, and as consistently as possible.

Performing Mind was developed, and is run by South African psychologist Clinton Gahwiler (BA Hons MA, Couns.Psych.). Clinton has run the psychology practice of the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA) since its inception in 1995.

Since then he has worked with numerous elite South African athletes and teams. While confidentiality precludes the mentioning of most clients, interventions that have been of public knowledge include being psychologist to the overall Team South Africa at the 1999 All Africa Games, and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Besides sport psychology, Clinton’s other passion is health psychology, in which he works with individuals to maximize their health and wellbeing, by developing and maintaining a positive lifestyle that enables them to be more successful on a sustainable basis.
